The Blue Sea Systems 4180 Backlit Push Button Switch is a maintained On/Off control rated 15A at 12V DC, supplied with five icon labels.

Maintained action is the distinction from the momentary 4181, which looks nearly identical and does something different. This one stays on when pressed and stays off when pressed again, which is what a lighting or accessory circuit needs. The momentary version only holds while the button is held.

The color-changing backlight confirms whether the connected circuit is active, which matters on a push button where there is no lever position to read. A rocker or toggle shows its state by shape. A push button looks the same either way, so the illumination is doing real work rather than decoration.

Five icon labels cover accessory, lights, anchor light, running light and bilge pump, with an additional icon kit available separately.
