Description
The Blue Sea Systems 7372 is a 120/240V AC main-only unit with a single 50A C-Series three-pole toggle breaker.
Three poles is what 240V service requires, switching both hot lines and the neutral together rather than leaving a conductor live. A two-pole breaker on split-phase leaves the neutral connected behind an open main, which is not what anyone working downstream would assume.
This gives a boat its shore power main and nothing else, for installations where branch distribution already exists further inside the boat. That is the usual arrangement on a larger vessel, where the main sits near the inlet and the branch panels are elsewhere.
Neutral and safety ground buses are installed, so those connections are present rather than needing to be made up separately. A red reverse polarity LED warns of incorrectly wired dock power, label backlighting is pre-installed and all LEDs are fitted from the factory. Explore more marine circuit breakers.
- Three poles switch both hot lines and the neutral
- A two-pole main leaves the neutral connected
- Main only, with branch distribution elsewhere
- 50A on 120/240V, with buses installed
