Blue Sea 7144 100A 187-Series Surface Mount Breaker

The Blue Sea Systems 7144 is a 100 amp surface mount breaker in the 187 Series, rated to 48 volts DC.

At 100 amps the cable feeding it is heavy and stiff, and surface mounting is what lets that cable approach along the bulkhead rather than turning into a panel cutout. Forcing 2 AWG or larger around a tight bend behind a console is how terminals end up strained and connections work loose over a season.

One hundred amps is the common size for a house bank feed or a mid-size inverter, so this is the most frequently specified surface mount unit in the range. The thermal bi-metal element tolerates the inrush an inverter draws at switch-on instead of tripping on it.

Interrupt capacity is 5,000 amperes at 12 volts DC, 3,000 at 24 and 1,500 at 42, in Type III class with manual reset and trip free operation.
