The Victron SmartSolar MPPT 150/85 VE.Can is an 85A solar charge controller accepting up to 150V PV input, with VE.Can and Bluetooth.
Eighty-five amps is the largest output in the 150V SmartSolar line, and VE.Can is what lets it scale beyond a single unit. Controllers link with RJ45 cables so their charging stages synchronize across a larger installation. Without that, two controllers on one bank disagree about which stage the batteries are in and the profile becomes a compromise between them.
Connecting to a compatible GX device consolidates system data for local monitoring, or sends it to Victron Remote Management where internet access is available. That turns a set of independent controllers into one system rather than several devices each reporting separately.
The charging profile is programmable across chemistries including lead-acid and lithium, and common bank voltages are detected automatically.
