Description
The Victron SmartSolar MPPT 150/100-TR VE.Can is a 100A solar charge controller accepting up to 150V PV, with TR screw terminals.
One hundred amps is the largest SmartSolar output, and at that level the connection method matters as much as the electronics. TR screw terminals accept heavy cable directly, which is what a 100 amp battery circuit needs. The MC4 version uses solar connectors instead and suits an installation wired with pre-terminated panel leads.
A remote on/off input allows control from third-party equipment such as a lithium battery management system, which is how a BMS stops charging when a cell goes out of range. On a lithium installation that connection is not optional, and a controller without it cannot be integrated safely.
VE.Can ports daisy chain multiple controllers so their charging stages synchronize across a large array, and a VE.Direct port adds a further connection for monitoring. Common 12V, 24V and 48V systems are detected automatically, charging is fully programmable across chemistries, and an optional plug-in LCD gives local data and configuration.
