Victron SmartShunt 300A Bluetooth Smart Battery Shunt

The Victron SmartShunt 300A is a compact battery monitor using a phone, tablet or GX device as its display, with VE.Direct.

Three hundred amps is the smallest SmartShunt, and it gives better resolution than a larger shunt on the same bank. A shunt measures a small voltage across a calibrated resistance, so a 300A unit reads low currents more precisely than a 1000A one would. Oversizing costs accuracy on the everyday numbers.

It suits smaller and mid-size marine, RV and off-grid systems where 500A or 1000A would be more capacity than needed. Checking the maximum current the system will actually draw, usually set by an inverter, is what decides the right size.
