Victron SmartShunt 2000A Bluetooth Smart Battery Shunt

The Victron SmartShunt 2000A/50mV is a high-current battery monitor using a phone, tablet or GX device as its interface.

Two thousand amps is a very large measurement range, well beyond what a recreational boat needs. It suits high-capacity inverter banks, propulsion-support batteries and commercial systems. A smaller shunt gives better resolution at low currents, so oversizing costs accuracy on the everyday readings.

The 50mV output has to match what the monitoring device expects, since that ratio is how millivolts convert back to amps. A device configured for a different ratio reports a plausible but wrong figure, and nothing about the reading reveals the error.
