The Victron Smart BatteryProtect 220A works on 12V or 24V with automatic voltage detection, programmable by Bluetooth or nine preset profiles.
Automatic system voltage detection during setup removes one thing to get wrong on installation. A device needing the voltage set manually will work incorrectly if that step is missed, and this establishes it itself.
Nine predefined voltage profiles can be selected without a phone, using the programming pin. That matters during commissioning or where the app is not to hand, and it means the unit can be configured by someone who is not the owner.
It disconnects nonessential loads before the bank loses the reserve needed to crank an engine. That is the specific goal rather than protecting the battery generally: a boat with a flat house bank still starts, where one with everything paralleled does not.
