The Victron Orion IP67 12/24-50A is a 1200W DC-DC converter producing 24V from a 12V system, with a 15-40V input range.

The wide 15 to 40V input range is what keeps the output stable when the source voltage moves around. On a boat or a vehicle the supply sags when a starter cranks and rises when the alternator is charging hard. A converter with a narrow window drops out at both extremes.

IP67 sealing means the converter can be mounted where a conventional unit could not. An engine space, a bilge area or an exposed machinery compartment are all within its rating, which is unusual for a converter of this size.
