Victron Battery Balancer for Series-Connected Banks

This Victron Battery Balancer equalizes the state of charge between two series-connected 12V batteries, or between several parallel strings of series-connected batteries. Note that it will not work on a 36V bank.

When the charge voltage of a 24V battery system rises above 27V, the Battery Balancer turns on and compares the voltage across the two series-connected batteries. It then draws up to 1 amp from whichever battery shows the higher voltage.

That resulting charge current differential ensures all the batteries converge toward the same state of charge over time. Otherwise, one battery in the string would gradually drift out of balance with the others. Shop more battery management systems.
