Description

The Victron 600A 8-Post Busbar has eight 3/8-inch connection points plus eight M8 terminals for high-current DC distribution.

Two terminal sizes on one busbar is unusual and useful, since heavy cable and branch feeds rarely use the same lug. The 3/8-inch posts take main battery and inverter cables; the M8 terminals suit accessory feeds and smaller branches, all landing on the same bar.

A dedicated busbar keeps heavy connections off the battery terminals themselves. Stacking four or five lugs on a battery post is how connections work loose and how a terminal ends up damaged, and it makes any single cable impossible to remove without disturbing the rest.

Six hundred amps is the rating, and it should exceed the total current the bar will actually carry. That figure is usually set by the inverter rather than the charging side on most installations. Explore more power distribution and bus bars.

  • Two terminal sizes on one bar
  • 3/8 for main cables, M8 for branch feeds
  • Keeps stacked lugs off the battery posts
  • Stacked lugs work loose and trap each other
