The Bluewater Heavy-Duty Busbar has eight 3/8-16 stainless steel studs on a rugged base, rated to 600 amps.
Six hundred amps is a substantial rating, suiting battery connections, inverter links and grounding on a large DC system. The rating has to exceed the highest current the busbar will ever see, not the normal load, since a bus carrying several circuits sees their sum during a fault.
Eight studs give room for multiple large cable terminations in one place, which is what a busbar is for. The alternative is stacking lugs on a battery post, and a stack of four or five terminations on one post is difficult to torque properly and impossible to service without disturbing every connection.
