Shakespeare Galaxy 8-Foot Heavy-Duty Extension Mast

The Shakespeare Galaxy 8-Foot Heavy-Duty Extension Mast is built from high-quality white fiberglass, finished to match Shakespeare's Galaxy antenna line so an extended setup still looks like one cohesive piece rather than an obvious add-on.

Extension masts solve two common problems on boats: getting more real height out of an antenna to improve effective range, since VHF signal reach depends heavily on how far above the water an antenna actually sits, or simply lifting an antenna clear of hardtops, arches, or other onboard obstructions that would otherwise block or distort its signal. This particular mast runs a 1-1/2" diameter for real rigidity at that added height.

One important installation note: if the combined length of the antenna plus all extensions runs past 8 feet total, an upper support bracket becomes mandatory rather than optional, since an unsupported mast that tall risks excessive flex or failure at speed and in rough water.
