Shakespeare Galaxy 4-Foot Heavy-Duty Extension Mast

The Shakespeare Galaxy 4-Foot Heavy-Duty Extension Mast is the shorter sibling to Shakespeare's 8-foot version, built from the same high-quality white fiberglass and finished to match the Galaxy antenna line for a cohesive look once installed.

At 1-1/2" diameter, this mast gives an antenna real added height to improve effective VHF range, or simply lifts it clear of hardtops, towers, or other onboard obstructions that would otherwise interfere with signal path. It's the right choice when a boater needs a smaller height boost than the 8-foot version gives.

As with any Shakespeare extension mast, there's a hard rule worth following closely: if the combined length of the antenna and all extensions together exceeds 8 feet total, an upper support bracket becomes mandatory, not optional, to keep the assembly from flexing excessively or failing at speed.
