Description
The United Cutlery Bushmaster Explorer has a 4.38-inch gray coated 1095HC steel drop point blade at 9.5 inches overall, a brown wood handle, a lanyard hole and a brown leather belt sheath.
A wood handle on a bushcraft knife is the traditional choice and the one that needs care. It warms in the hand, dampens vibration better than any synthetic, and needs occasional oiling where G10 needs nothing. 1095HC takes a very keen edge and strops back quickly, developing a patina that slows further rust once established.
The gray coating protects a carbon steel that would otherwise rust, and it cuts glare on a blade used outdoors. The drop point sits the tip below the spine line for control, with a long belly behind it for general cutting. Explore more Survival and Bushcraft.
