Spyderco Police SpyderEdge Serrated Folding Knife

The Spyderco Police SpyderEdge (C07S) is the fully serrated version of the long-running Police, with a 4.125-inch VG-10 blade. A full serrated edge along this long blade gives a great deal of cutting surface for rope, webbing, and heavy cord. It is a favorite among boaters, first responders, and anyone who cuts line often. Opened, the knife stretches to roughly 9.4 inches from tip to butt.

SpyderEdge serrations combine large and small scallops, so the points bite in while the curves slice. Because the points do most of the work, a serrated edge keeps cutting long after a plain edge would slip. VG-10 resists rust well, which helps on boats and in wet weather. The clip point keeps a usable tip for piercing and starting cuts.

The slim stainless steel handle has a pocket clip and lanyard hole. The spine-mounted back lock keeps the blade fixed in use, while the oversized Round Hole makes opening easy with one thumb. Like the plain-edge model, it is built in Seki, Japan. Sharpen the serrations with a ceramic rod and avoid grinding the flat side on a coarse stone. Rescue crews use serrated blades for cutting seat belts and harness straps. Check local knife laws before carrying a blade over 4 inches. Rinse in fresh water and dry after use near salt water.
