The SOG Camp Axe is 11.5 inches overall with a 5 inch brushed 3Cr13 stainless head, a 2.75 inch cutting edge, a hammer end and a black GRN handle.

The hammer poll opposite the edge is what makes this a camp tool rather than a hatchet. Tent pegs, stakes and small nails all need driving, and a flat poll does that where a wedge-shaped one glances off. It means one tool handles pitching a camp and processing kindling instead of two.

3Cr13 is a soft stainless chosen for corrosion resistance and easy resharpening rather than edge retention, which suits an axe stored in a wet pack.
