The Marbles Hunters Axe is 18 inches overall with a 6 inch head, a 3.5 inch cutting edge and a hickory handle with a lanyard hole.

Eighteen inches is the boy's axe length, swung one-handed or two depending on the job. It splits kindling, limbs a carcass and processes firewood without the reach or weight of a full axe. For a hunting camp that is the right size, since nothing there needs felling and everything needs handling.

Hickory is the traditional axe handle wood because it flexes under impact rather than transmitting shock into the wrist, and it splinters rather than snapping clean.
