Description
The Smith & Wesson MP301 has a 3.75-inch black finish stainless dagger blade with a false edge, a gray stainless handle with a black nylon inlay, an extended tang, a thumb stud and a pocket clip, closing to 4.75 inches.
A false edge is ground to look sharpened along the back of the blade but left blunt. It thins the point for piercing while keeping a spine the thumb can press on, which a true double edge does not allow. That is the practical compromise on a dagger-shaped folder, since a fully sharpened second edge would make the knife awkward for ordinary cutting.
The nylon inlay set into the stainless frame gives grip where bare metal turns slick, without the weight of a full synthetic scale. At 4.75 inches closed this is a large folder, sized for a jacket or belt rather than a trouser pocket. Explore more Modern EDC Linerlocks.
- False edge thins the point but keeps a usable spine
- Avoids the awkwardness of a fully double-edged folder
- Nylon inlay grips where bare stainless slips
- 3.75-inch blade, 4.75 inches closed
