The Smith & Wesson M and P Linerlock has a 2.5-inch gray titanium coated stainless blade, a silver rubberized aluminum handle, an extended tang, a thumb stud and a pocket clip, closing to 3.5 inches.

Rubberizing over aluminum is the practical detail. Bare anodized metal turns slick when wet, and a thin rubber coating gives grip without the bulk of a full synthetic scale or the weight of a textured one. Titanium coating is a hard ceramic layer deposited onto the steel, adding surface hardness and cutting glare rather than simply coloring the blade.
