Description
The Smith & Wesson First Response has a 3.63-inch matte stainless blade with a partially serrated edge and First Response etching, a matte stainless frame with black sure grip inlays and an integrated seat belt cutter, closing to 4.625 inches.
This is the serrated version of the rescue folder, where the plain edge model runs an unbroken blade. Serrations cut wet rope, webbing and clothing far better than a plain edge, which is most of what a rescue knife meets. The seat belt cutter is a separate hooked blade set into the frame, usable with the main blade closed so the point never goes near whoever is wearing the belt.
A thumb lug on the blade opens the knife one-handed, which matters when the other hand is occupied. Sure grip inlays set into the stainless frame give purchase where bare metal turns slick with water or blood. Explore more Tactical Linerlocks.
- Serrated version, better on wet rope and clothing
