Description
The Smith & Wesson Extreme Ops has a 3-inch black finish stainless blade with a partially serrated edge and a sawback spine, dual thumb studs, an extended tang and black aluminum handles with machined slot cutouts, closing to 4 inches.
The sawback is cut into the spine opposite the cutting edge, so one blade clears with the main edge and cuts through seasoned wood with the teeth, two jobs that need entirely different geometry. Finding that on a 3-inch folder is unusual, since sawbacks normally appear on fixed blades long enough to give the teeth working room.
Dual thumb studs and an extended tang mean three ways to open the blade, so it works in either hand and in any grip. Machined slot cutouts drop weight out of the aluminum handles without losing rigidity. Explore more Tactical Linerlocks.
- Sawback spine on a 3-inch folder, uncommon at this size
- Plain edge at the tip, serrations near the handle
- Dual thumb studs plus an extended tang
- Machined cutouts drop weight from the aluminum
