Description
The Shakespeare Squatty Body VHF Antenna with L-Bracket is a lightweight, low-profile 36 in antenna made for masthead mounting. It is a favorite with sailboat owners. The end-fed half-wave stainless steel whip gives 3 dB of gain.
A hermetically sealed, tin-plated copper wire coil sits inside the stainless steel body. It has 7 MHz of bandwidth and an SWR of 1.5:1 at 156.8 MHz. It handles up to 50 watts, is 50 ohm and has a vertical, omni-directional pattern.
A stainless steel L-bracket is included for mast mounting. It ends in an SO-239 connector, and cable is sold separately. It does not have a DC ground. Other antennas and mounts are in our marine antennas section.
