Scout 8-Foot White Offshore VHF Antenna, 6dB

The Scout 8-Foot White Offshore VHF Antenna, 6dB is the KS-43, the best-performing VHF antenna in Scout's range, built for long-range communication offshore. It uses a collinear-phased design with two half-wave sections and solid brass and copper elements inside. The whip is extra heavy-duty fiberglass 1.5 mm thick, and Scout's foam injection seals it so water, wind, ice and high speed will not hurt it.

It covers 156 to 162 MHz with vertical polarization and 50 ohm impedance. It handles up to 50 W and is DC grounded. The antenna is 8 ft long and weighs about 1.9 lb, and the extra-thick fiberglass keeps whip flex down at speed.

The included coax has 97% copper braid coverage for strong shielding against interference, and a PL-259 connector is supplied. A heavy stainless steel ferrule has a standard 1 in-14 thread to fit almost any mount, and Scout suggests stainless steel or chrome brass mounts.
