The Schrade Steelhead has a 3.25-inch black oxide coated AUS-10A stainless tanto blade, a black G10 handle, an extended tang, a lanyard hole and a pocket clip, closing to 4.75 inches.
AUS-10A is a Japanese stainless with more carbon than the common AUS-8, holding an edge noticeably longer while still sharpening back without difficulty. Black oxide is a conversion coating that grows out of the steel surface rather than sitting on top as paint would, so it cuts glare and slows rust without adding thickness that could flake.
