Description
The Schrade Barlow has polished stainless clip and pen blades in brown composition handles with a stainless bolster engraved Barlow, closing to 3.375 inches.
The barlow is recognized by that long bolster, which runs well past the pivot. It began as reinforcement on a cheap working knife in 18th century England and stayed as the pattern's signature long after manufacturing made the extra metal unnecessary. The clip blade takes general cutting while the pen blade, slim and symmetrical, handles the fine work a larger edge cannot reach.
Both blades pivot from the same end, which is what makes this a jack pattern rather than a trapper. Composition handles hold their shape where natural bone would move with moisture, and the engraved bolster names the pattern outright. Explore more Barlow Knives.
