Samlex 10W Portable SunCharger Battery Maintainer

The Samlex SC-10 Portable SunCharger is a 10W semi-flexible solar panel for maintaining a 12V battery during storage, with a 10-foot cable.

Blocking circuitry prevents current flowing backward from the battery into the panel at night, and without it a solar panel becomes a load after dark. That reverse flow would slowly discharge the battery the panel spent the day charging, which is the exact opposite of what a maintainer should do.

Ten watts is a maintainer rather than a charger, sized to offset parasitic loads and self-discharge on a stored boat, car, truck, ATV or RV. It will not recover a flat battery, and it is not meant to. Keeping a good battery good over a winter is the job.

It connects through a 12V accessory plug or directly to the battery with the included ring-terminal lead.
