The Nitecore EDC23 is a flat 4.05-inch rechargeable light with two NiteLab UHi 25 LEDs, reaching 2,500 lumens and 280 meters.
A flat body about 1.30 inches wide sits differently in a pocket from a round light. Round lights roll, print through fabric and sit awkwardly against a leg. A flat profile lies against the body and stays where it is put, which is what makes an everyday-carry light actually get carried.
The OLED display shows the selected level and operating information rather than leaving it to be guessed. Most lights indicate mode with a click count or a flash pattern. A readout removes the guesswork about which level is active and how much is left.
