The Nitecore EDC31 is a compact rechargeable light on a NiteLab UHi 20 MAX LED, with 3,500 lumens in LUMIN SHIELD and 1,500 in SEARCH.

The 5-lumen Ultralow running as much as 57 hours is the specification that matters most in practice. Bright modes get demonstrated and rarely used. A light that runs for over two days at a level sufficient to move around by is a different kind of tool from one that is brilliant for an hour.

Between those extremes, High gives 1,100 lumens for 4 hours and Low 70 lumens for 24. That spread means one light covers a work task, an evening and an emergency without a second one being needed.
