The Newmar SS Switch 7.5 INV is a 63A AC source selector for shore, generator and inverter, marked OFF-GEN-INV-SHORE.
Mechanically isolating the selected source is the point, and it is what prevents two AC sources being connected together. Back-feeding a generator from an inverter, or shore power into a running generator, damages equipment and is dangerous to anyone working on the dock supply. A mechanical selector makes that physically impossible.
Three source positions plus Off means the boat can also be fully isolated from all AC. That Off position matters during maintenance, since it is the only state where nothing can become live unexpectedly.
It is rated 63A at 115/230V AC using a two-pole switching arrangement. Two-pole switches both the hot and the neutral on a 115V system, which is what leaves no conductor live behind an open switch. Explore more shore power accessories.
