Description
The Blue Sea Systems 9009 is an AC rotary selector switch rated 32A, UL listed to 600V AC, transferring between two 120V or 230V sources.
Thirty-two amps matches a European pedestal rather than the 30A of a typical North American service, which is worth checking against the boat's inlet. It is also the rating of the 9010, and between the two the difference is the operating sequence rather than the capacity.
This selects between two sources with an Off position, where the 9010 gives three positions plus Off. Counting the AC sources the boat will eventually have, rather than the ones it has now, is what avoids replacing the switch later.
The heavy-duty industrial mechanism works cleanly one-handed and mounts in panels up to about 0.16 inches thick. As a selector rather than an over-current protection device, correctly sized breakers, leakage protection and source protection must remain part of the system. Explore more marine electrical switches.
- 32A, matching a European pedestal not a 30A service
- Two sources plus Off, where the 9010 has three
- Count the sources the boat will eventually have
- Fits panels up to about 0.16 inches thick
