Description
The Blue Sea Systems 9019 is a three-pole AC rotary selector switch rated 63A, UL listed to 600V AC, selecting between two 120/240V sources.
Sixty-three amps is the difference between this and the 65A 9077, and the two are otherwise closely matched selectors. The rating decides which suits a given service, so checking the actual shore and generator capacity is worth doing rather than assuming either fits.
A positive Off position sits between the two sources, which prevents the momentary connection that switching live to live would create. The three-pole design transfers the appropriate conductors together so the selected source moves as one coordinated circuit.
It is a selector rather than a breaker, so over-current and leakage protection still has to exist elsewhere in the system. The heavy-duty industrial rotary mechanism works cleanly one-handed, and the compact body mounts in relatively thin panels where space is short. Explore more marine electrical switches.
- 63A, against 65A on the closely matched 9077
- Check actual shore and generator capacity first
- Positive Off between the two sources
- A selector, not a breaker: protection needed elsewhere
