The Marttiini Basic Fillet has a 7.5-inch satin stainless fillet blade at 12.25 inches overall in a black textured rubber handle and a black plastic belt sheath. Made in Finland.

A fillet blade is ground thin and left flexible so the edge follows the curve of a ribcage instead of cutting straight through it, which is what keeps meat on the fillet rather than the frame. At 7.5 inches this is a long blade, sized for salmon, pike and larger saltwater fish where a 6-inch blade runs out partway down the cut.
