The Marinco 50-Amp Wire Dockside Shore Power Receptacle is a 3-pole, 4-wire 125/250V fitting in a black glass-filled nylon body.

This is the dockside half of the connection rather than anything that goes on a boat, for a marina pedestal or a private shore power station. Three-pole, four-wire is the standard 50A marine configuration, with two hot legs, a neutral and a ground, which is what makes 125/250V split-phase service possible.

The glass-filled nylon body and face take moisture, salt, sunlight and repeated plug cycles, which is a harder life than the boat-side connector sees. A dock receptacle gets used by different boats several times a week rather than by one owner occasionally.
