Description

The Marinco Flip-Lid 12/24V Receptacle is a 2018BR receptacle with a spring-loaded lid and mounting bracket, preassembled.

The spring-loaded cover is the reason to choose this over a bare receptacle. It keeps dirt, splash and incidental contact out while nothing is plugged in. An open DC socket on a boat fills with salt spray and corrodes at the contacts, and the failure shows up as an accessory that works intermittently rather than one that plainly does not.

Receptacle, lid and bracket arrive already assembled, so the parts do not have to be sourced separately and aligned during installation. That alignment is fiddly on a bracket-mounted socket, and getting it wrong means a lid that does not close square on the seal.

It suits accessory-power applications where a covered outlet is wanted rather than an exposed one. It works on both 12V and 24V systems, so it does not need matching to system voltage the way many DC fittings do. Explore more shore power connectors.

  • Spring lid keeps salt spray off the contacts
  • An open socket fails intermittently, not obviously
  • Preassembled, so nothing needs aligning on site
  • Works on both 12V and 24V systems
