Description

The Marinco 15A-to-50A Shore Power Pigtail Adapter connects a boat with a 50A 125/250V inlet to a standard 15A 125V source, with an LED power indicator.

The capacity limit is the thing to understand. This supplies 15A at 125V, not the full 50A or both legs of a normal 125/250V service. So a boat plugged in this way runs a charger and some lighting, not air conditioning and a water heater. Connected loads have to stay within the 15A source limit or the household breaker trips.

That makes it a maintenance and storage adapter rather than a way to use the boat normally on household power. Battery charging over a winter, or light dockside service where no proper pedestal exists, is what it is for.

An integrated LED shows power is present, which saves working out whether the outlet at the far end is live. The molded body and ergonomic shape grip well during connection, and a sealing collar protects the connection in wet locations. Explore more shore power adapters.

  • Supplies 15A at 125V, not full 50A service
  • A charger and lights, not air conditioning
  • A maintenance and storage adapter
  • LED confirms the far outlet is actually live
