The Marinco 121A Pigtail Adapter connects a 50A locking boat inlet to a 30A locking dockside connection.

Adapting a 50 amp boat down to a 30 amp pedestal is a visitor-berth solution rather than a permanent one. The boat receives 30 amps and nothing more. A vessel used to full 50 amp service will trip the pedestal quickly if air conditioning, water heating and charging run together, so loads have to be managed deliberately.

The short pigtail bridges the two connector formats without a full-length specialty cord, which suits keeping one aboard for occasional stops. It changes the connector configuration only. Matching inlet, cordset, voltage and dockside receptacle before use is essential rather than optional.
