Marinco 115A 50A to 15A Shore Power Pigtail Adapter

The Marinco 115A Pigtail Adapter connects a 50A 125V locking boat inlet to a standard 15A 125V straight-blade dockside receptacle.

Fifteen amps is domestic household service, and this adapter exists for exactly that situation: a boat on a lift, in a yard or at a dock with nothing but an ordinary outlet. It suits battery charging, maintenance, lighting and light onboard loads. Air conditioning, water heaters and anything with a compressor will trip a 15A circuit immediately.

The adapter changes the connector configuration and nothing else. It does not turn a 15A source into a 50A supply, and the usable power stays limited by the dockside circuit. Loads have to be kept inside that limit deliberately, since the boat's own breakers are sized for far more.
