Description
The Marinco 110A Pigtail Adapter connects a 30A 125V boat inlet to a 50A 125V dockside receptacle.
Both sides here are 125V single voltage, which is what separates this from the pigtails that put a 30A inlet onto a 125/250V pedestal. Selecting by amperage alone is the mistake to avoid. The adapter has to match both connector type and voltage, and picking the highest available dockside amperage does not make an adapter correct.
Adapting upward is the useful direction. The pedestal has more capacity than the boat needs, so the 30 amp circuit runs at its full rating rather than being throttled. It does not increase the boat's capacity. Onboard wiring and loads stay governed by the 30 amp circuit design regardless of what the dock can supply.
The boat-side female connector attaches to the vessel inlet or cordset with the sealing collar system, and the dockside male plug takes the larger receptacle. Covers and sealing hardware are supplied where required, and the short pigtail keeps the conversion easier to handle than a full adapter cable. Explore more shore power adapters.
- 30A boat inlet onto a 50A 125V pedestal
- Both sides 125V, not the 125/250V version
- Match connector type and voltage, not amperage alone
- The boat gains no capacity from the larger supply
