Marinco 30A to 15A GFI Dockside Power Adapter

The Marinco Dockside Power Adapter is a 30A to 15A adapter with built-in ground-fault protection, tripping at 4 to 6 mA.

The GFI is the whole reason to choose this over a plain 30A to 15A adapter. Working with power tools on a wet dock is one of the more dangerous things done around boats. Four to six milliamps is the trip threshold, well below the level that stops a heart, which is what ground-fault protection exists to prevent.

It protects as many as three attached tools, so a sander, a light and a vacuum can run from one protected connection during maintenance work. Marinco notes it also reduces the chance of fire caused by electrical faults, which matters around a boat with fuel and fiberglass.
