Lewmar V4/V5 #203 Replacement Rope/Chain Gypsy

The Lewmar #203 gypsy is a replacement rope and chain wheel for Lewmar V4 and V5 windlasses. It is cut for hard-lay three-strand rope spliced to chain, including Campbell S3 and Lewmar 9.5 mm G40 chain. Matching the gypsy to your rode is what lets the windlass grip and haul smoothly.

A worn gypsy lets the rode slip and jump, which makes anchoring harder and wears the rode. Replacing it restores smooth hauling and controlled lowering. You can also swap gypsies when you change to a different rode.

The V4 and V5 windlasses use a cone clutch for smooth control, manual freefall and a W.A.R.P. drum. Check your chain and rope against the gypsy spec before ordering. Have the splice checked so it feeds cleanly over the gypsy. See every option in our anchor windlasses.
