Description

The Kai USA Luna Bread Knife has an 8.5-inch hammered finish serrated stainless blade at 13.5 inches overall, a black and gray rubberized synthetic handle and a black synthetic sheath.

A hammered finish leaves shallow dimples across the blade face, and on a long kitchen blade those pockets break the suction that makes bread and soft food stick to a smooth surface. Serrations are what make a bread blade work, catching and sawing through a hard crust that would compress and tear under a plain edge.

At 8.5 inches the blade is long enough to cross a full loaf in one stroke, which is what leaves a clean face rather than a stepped one. Kai recommends hand washing and drying rather than a dishwasher, and the sheath protects the serrations in a drawer. Explore more Kitchen Knives.

  • Hammered dimples stop bread sticking to the blade
  • Serrations saw through crust a plain edge would tear
  • 8.5 inches crosses a full loaf in one stroke
  • 13.5 inches overall with a synthetic sheath
