Jabsco Par-Max HD3 12V 3-GPM 60-PSI Water Pump

The Jabsco Par-Max HD3 12V Water Pump (part Q301J-118S-3A) delivers about 3 gallons per minute and shuts off at 60 psi. The 60 psi setting gives a noticeably stronger shower than the 40 psi HD3, even though the flow rating is the same. It is a good match for smaller boats with newer plumbing and one or two people using water at a time.

Like other HD models, it has a heavy duty motor, a cast aluminum lower housing, and a co-molded diaphragm. An integrated bypass module lets a little water recirculate at low demand, which keeps the pump from rapid on-off cycling. The pump can self-prime and tolerates running dry if the tank empties.

Before switching up from a 40 psi pump, confirm the water heater relief valve and plumbing fittings are rated for 60 psi. Quick-connect ports let you swap the pump later without cutting hoses. Fit a strainer on the inlet and drain the pump before freezing weather. The 40 psi HD3 and larger Par-Max pumps are in our fresh water and washdown pumps.
