The Jabsco Par-Max HD4 12V Water Pump (part Q401J-118S-3A) supplies about 4 gallons per minute and shuts off at 60 psi. It is a popular upgrade for owners replacing an older, noisy freshwater pump. The higher pressure gives a firm shower and quick fills at the galley.
The motor is a brushed, permanent magnet type in a totally enclosed housing, and the pump has an IPX6 rating against water spray. A sealed pressure switch handles on and off control without a separate switch. The integrated bypass module helps the pump run smoothly when only one tap is cracked open.
Quick-connect ports adapt to common hose sizes, which simplifies swapping out an older pump. Confirm that your water heater and fittings are rated for 60 psi. Clean the inlet strainer whenever flow seems weak. The 40 psi HD4 and other freshwater pumps are in our fresh water and washdown pumps.
