Description
The Jabsco Maxi Puppy 3000 is a 12V flexible-impeller pump for general water transfer. It moves up to 10 GPM (45 L/min) at up to 15 PSI. Its ports take 1-inch bore hose or a 1/2-inch BSP threaded fitting, so it adapts to most existing plumbing.
Owners use it for bilge and sump work, for livewells and bait tanks, or for moving water between tanks. Some mount it permanently, while others keep it loose to empty a flooded compartment when needed. A flexible impeller handles water with small debris better than a diaphragm pump. Its compact body fits in tight spaces under a console or beside a livewell.
The impeller self-primes but should not run dry for long, so wire the pump to a switch you can see and size the fuse to Jabsco's specification. Inspect the impeller each season and replace it if the vanes are cracked or set in a bend. Carry a spare impeller on longer trips, and see the rest of our bilge and water pumps for other utility pumps.
