Description

The Schrade Imperial 16S Medium Stockman has stainless clip, spey and sheepsfoot blades in an amber celluloid handle with nickel silver bolsters and an inlay shield, closing to 3.38 inches.

Celluloid was the first commercial plastic and the material that let American pocketknives look expensive without being expensive, imitating tortoiseshell, pearl and amber from the late 1800s onward. It is also the reason old celluloid knives need care. The material can outgas over decades and corrode the blades inside a closed knife, and collectors store them open for that reason.

Three blades divide the work: the clip for general cutting, the sheepsfoot for controlled push cuts against a surface, and the spey for scraping without a point to puncture. Each blade opens on a nail nick over a slip joint, with no lock to release. Explore more Stockman Knives.
