The First Watch AV-800 is a four-pocket USCG Type III flotation vest in hi-vis yellow, sized L/XL, with SOLAS reflective tape front and back.
Hi-vis yellow is the most visible color in daylight, and it is standard on road and industrial safety wear rather than orange for that reason. On the water that matters as much for being seen by another vessel or a crane operator as for being found after going overboard.
SOLAS reflective tape front and back covers the other half of the problem. Tape returns light straight back to a searchlight, where plain fabric of any color disappears after dark. Together they handle daylight and darkness, which a single-color vest without tape does not.
The removable fleece-lined collar adds warmth when needed and comes off when it does not, with a ventilation port at its base to let heat escape.
