The First Watch AV-800 is a four-pocket USCG Type III flotation vest in black, sized XXL/3XL.
XXL/3XL is the largest size in the range, and on a working vest the size has to allow for what is worn underneath rather than just the wearer. A vest that will not fasten over a jacket or duty gear ends up worn open, and an open vest rides up over the head in the water and gives almost no flotation.
Black is the discreet option against hi-vis yellow and OD green, suiting work where the vest should not draw attention. The trade is visibility, both in daylight and against dark water, which is what the SOLAS reflective tape front and back is there to offset.
The collar is removable and fleece-lined with a ventilation port at its base, so warmth can be added or heat let out as conditions change.
