First Watch AV-800 L/XL OD Green Flotation Vest

The First Watch AV-800 is a four-pocket USCG Type III flotation vest in OD green, sized L/XL.

OD green is the military and tactical colorway, and it is chosen where a vest needs to blend with existing kit rather than stand out. That suits agency work, hunting from a boat and any operation where hi-vis yellow would defeat the purpose. It gives up daylight visibility for that, which the SOLAS tape only partly offsets.

The AV-800 is built light with four pockets sized to hold real gear, which is what makes a vest usable through a working day rather than a garment worn under protest. Mesh organizers in the two lower pockets keep contents sorted rather than loose, and a lash tab in the upper left takes small accessories.

The collar is removable and fleece-lined with a ventilation port at its base, so warmth is added or heat released as conditions change.
