Description
The Fireboy-Xintex CMD6-M Series CO Alarm in white is powered by included maintenance-free lithium-metal batteries, without interconnect.
Battery power and no interconnect makes this the simplest alarm in the range to fit: no wiring, no linking, just mounting. For an older boat where running a circuit into a headlining means pulling panels, that difference decides whether the alarm gets fitted at all.
The batteries are maintenance-free lithium-metal and last the life of the sensor, so there is no annual replacement to remember. Sensor life runs about 7 years to end-of-life, at which point the whole unit is replaced rather than serviced.
The sensor uses a Time Weighted Average process, tracking CO concentration alongside temperature and time to calculate carboxyhemoglobin levels. That measures how much of the blood's oxygen-carrying capacity has been lost, which is what actually determines danger, rather than alarming on a single high reading. Explore more gas and carbon monoxide detectors.
- No wiring and no linking, just mounting
- Fits an older boat without pulling headlining panels
- Batteries last the sensor's life, no annual swap
- TWA sensing measures blood effect, not raw CO
